Collection: KAITO 1977: The Kyoto Court Series

The Founder’s Chronicle

I was born in the heat of a legendary summer—July 13, 1977.

There is a specific elegance to that era; a time when sport was defined by disciplined focus and a quiet, social camaraderie. KAITO 1977 is my personal tribute to that spirit. It is the reimagined heritage of a fictional Kyoto social club—a 'Quiet Court' where the pursuit of Kaizen (continuous improvement) was the only true requirement for membership.

Every piece in the Kyoto Court Series is a study in intent. From the heavyweight 50/50 fleece of our Heritage Club Hoodie to the artisan Hanko seal stamped on every cuff, we have blended the technical requirements of the modern game with the 'Quiet Luxury' of the clubhouse.

As we prepare for our grand reopening this May, we invite you to join the club. Whether you are a disciplined athlete or a discerning traveler, welcome to the legacy of 1977.

The Quiet Court

Beyond the bustling streets of the Nishijin district lies the sanctuary of the Kyoto Court—a space where time slows down and the only sound is the rhythmic precision of the game.

Fictionally founded in the heat of July 1977, this 'Quiet Court' was designed as the ultimate 'Third Space'—a bridge between the intensity of the match and the refined relaxation of the clubhouse. It is here that we developed our signature Vintage Tofu and Forest Matsu palette, reflecting the natural harmony of the Japanese landscape and the disciplined spirit of the athlete.

  • The 1977 Crest

A symbol of the "Quiet Court" founded in the summer of 1977. The crest represents the transition from the chaotic world to the sanctuary of the clubhouse, where sport and social elegance meet.

  • The Hanko Seal

very garment is marked with a signature red Hanko seal, an authentic artisan signature. This mark signifies that the item—from the Heritage Club Hoodie to the Court Duffle—has been inspected and approved for the collection.

  • The Philosophy of Kaizen

Inspired by the founder’s 1977 heritage, we believe in Kaizen—the continuous pursuit of improvement.
