The Great Wave Off Kanagawa

Master Katsushika Hokusai created this, now Japanese vintage woodblock print, in 1831. This work of art is a part of a series named the "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji", and it is actually the first of them all.  Mount Fuji, presents in the background of the painting, is strategically positioned to attract the eye of the viewers.

Hokusai's "Great Wave", as it is commonly called, has become the most famous painting from the Edo Period. And even if his others Mount Fuji Paintings are as beautiful, this one will remain a celebrity.

We offer you to own your Hokusai painting but printed on wood. You will get a chance to look at this Mount Fuji painting whether you are at home, or in your office, and find your inner peace.

The wood print will be printed and shipped to you via our network of printers and will ensure fast and secure delivery. it is coming with a mounting kit and will takes minutes to place in your desired place.

We did name the store after this painting, as Kaito in Japanese means Sea or Ocean.

Notes about the reproductions

All the art in-store is from Ukiyo-e Painters, and mainly
from the 19th century. I am trying to keep the format as minimal as possible.
However, all the prints are coming from digitally created images from a
Woodblock print and they have “age-related” imperfections. The images might not
be as perfect as nowadays prints/reproductions
